Fitter, Shop Welder & Site Welder

Must have vast experience in the following processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW); aggregate industry, conveyors, mechanical and structural components, and heavy equipment repair. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications, and operate typical shop metal fabrication equipment. Must have transferable CWB tickets and drivers license must be in good standing. Any health and safety training is an asset.

iNTERMEDIATE PROJECT MANAGER

We are seeking an Intermediate Project Manager that is motivated, driven and looking to accelerate in the role, taking their skills and experience in the industry to the next level. This position will have the opportunity to grow, develop and use their determination to see various special projects through to completion. This position will report directly to the Business Manager and/or President.

The candidate will work alongside our current Project Manager, collaborating and absorbing learned skills, utilizing that knowledge to take ownership of the estimating process, and coordinating the design of structural steel, ensuring each step in the process is executed efficiently and effectively. (Solid communication with peers is critical).

Position elements include:
  • Day-to-day project oversight and communication with the shop, office and customer

  • Liaising between the shop and drafting department

  • Ensure the leadership team is informed of the progress on project expectations, deadlines and deliverables

  • Solid understanding of the decision-making responsibilities of the role

  • Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule throughout all phases of the project

  • Ensure the Project Management framework tasks are completed in a timely manner and properly documented

  • Supervising the estimating and drawing process flow

  • Estimating projects as assigned

  • Assist with purchasing material when required

  • Responsible for managing assigned tasks on various projects

  • Customer service focused (serving internal and external customers), with updates on project status and timelines

  • Flexibility with working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, prioritizing schedules, deliverables, and customer needs

  • Effectively participate and help to win potential projects

  • Plan, organize, and ensure the work is moving efficiently through the project cycle

Position REQUIREMENTS:
  • Safety oriented, including and not limited to following H&S policies and demonstrating safety is a priority

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Advanced excel skills, AutoCAD experience is required, and knowledge of Inventor is an asset

  • Team oriented, willing to help out in all areas

  • Customer-focused mindset

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Willing to take on training, learn new skills and grasp development opportunities, motivated to continually build knowledge as well as sharing expertise with others.

EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA:
  • Two or more years’ previous experience as Project Coordinator / Project Manager (Fabrication, Aggregate or similar industry)

  • Post-secondary education in a related discipline (College or University).
